In my opinioin, it depens on your status of your eyes. I want to you to ask a doctor whether your eyes are good or not, if your head is attacked by any impact wearing a MEN.
I hope you live good time. And if you do Kendo and I continue to do Kendo, let's KEIKO(to do practice) someday.
Thank you.
Kenamo

Hello,
I am not Japanese, so I will use English to comment.
I am a long time martial artist (started Southern Chinese Kungfu at age 8, boxing at age 16, and Kyukushinkai Karate at age 23). When I was 24, my retina detached. I underwent surgery and now it is half a year later. I stopped my karate, kungfu and boxing, it was difficult for me. Now, I am looking for a sport which I can practise despite having vulnerable eyes. I want to ask you whether Kendo is appropriate? Thank you in advance for your answer.
Much love,
Alex
